Mel's Weekend Zen Tarot Reading...

There is no question a huge Summer solstice Mel fiesta is brewing!

In this Osho Zen Tarot "diamond reading" card set used for clarity on a specific issue.

The issue (and the center card) came up

Major Arcana --
A very small bridge exists. If that bridge is broken through some accident, through some physiological defect or something else, the person becomes split, the person becomes two persons -- and the phenomenon of schizophrenia or split personality happens. The person becomes like two persons. If the bridge is strengthened then crystallization arises. What George Gurdjieff used to call "the two minds becoming one, the meeting of the male and the female within, the meeting of the yin and yang etc."

Commentary: The image of integration is the unio mystica, the fusion of previously experienced dualities of life rather than night opposing day, dark suppressing light, they work together to create a unified whole, turning endlessly one into the other each containing in its deepest core the seed of the opposite.

The card of integration is the symbol of self-creation, new life, and mystical union; otherwise known as alchemy.

The Internal influence that Mel is unable to see

Knight of water -- Mastery of Emotions
With Trust something immense opens up. Then this life is no longer an ordinary life, it becomes full of God, overflowing. When the heart is innocent and the walls have disappeared, you are bridged with infinity. And you are not deceived; there is nothing that can be taken away from you... You can not lose your real treasure.

commentary: Now is the moment to be a bungee jumper without the cord! And it is this quality of absolute trust, with no reservations or secret safety nets, that the Knight of Water demands from us. When we take trust to the level of the quantum leap, we don't make any elaborate plans or preparations. The leap is the thing, and the thrill of it is we free-fall through the empty sky. The card gives a hint here, though, about what waits for us at the other end -- a soft welcoming, yummy, juicy rose petals... c'mon!

External influence of which Mel is aware

Page of Water: Master of Emotions
You are out of jail, out of the cage; you can open your wings and the whole sky is yours. All the stars and the moon and the sun belong to you. You can disappear into the blueness of the beyond... Just drop clinging to this cage, move out of the cage and whole sky is yours. Open your wings and fly across the sun like an eagle. In the inner sky, in the inner world, freedom is the highest value -- everything else is secondary, even blissfulness, ecstasy. There are thousands of flowers, uncountable, but they all become possible in the climate of freedom.

commentary: The bird pictured on this card is looking out from what seems to be a cage. There is no door, and actually the bars are disappearing. The bars were an illusion, and this small bird is being summoned by the grace and freedom and encouragement of the others. It is spreading its wings, ready to take flight for the very first time. The dawn of a new understanding -- that the cage has always been open, and the sky has always been there for us to explore -- can make us feel a little shaky at first. It's fine, and natural to be shaky, but don't let it overshadow the opportunity to experience the lightheartedness and adventure on offer, right there alongside the shakiness. Move with the sweetness and gentleness of this time. Feel the fluttering within. Spread your wings and be free.

What is needed for resolution

Page of Clouds: Mastery of Mind
This is the situation of your head: Such a small head... and no space to live in! And that rubbish goes on moving in your head; your head goes on spinning and weaving -- it keeps you occupied. This cloud has to be dropped. And it is just with your decision to drop it that it will disappear. You are clinging to it -- the cloud is not interested in you, remember it.

commentary: This is what happens when we forget that the mind is meant to be a servant... The page of clouds is telling you ... somebody, somewhere, is stuck in a 'head trip' make sure it isn't you.

Resolution: the understanding

Fire: Action -- Minor Arcana
...A man who has some ideas about how to live, naturally becomes hard. He has continuously to carry his character around himself. The character is like an armor; his protection, his security; his whole life is invested in that character... The real man acts spontaneously. If you ask him a question, your question gets a response, not a reaction. He opens his heart to your question, exposes himself to your question, responds to it...

commentary: This is the portrait of one whole whole life energy has been depleted in his efforts to keep fueling the enormous and ridiculous machine of self-importance and productivity. He had been so busy 'keeping it all together' and 'making sure everything runs smoothly' that he has forgotten to really rest. The message of this card is all about the ways in which we set up safe but unnatural routines... It's time to tear up the time-card, break out of the factory, and take a little trip into the uncharted. Your work can flow more smoothly from a relaxed state of mind.

The Zen attitude
towards life
is that of laughter
of living
of enjoying
of celebrating
Zen is not anti-life
it is life-affirmation
it accepts all that is

That and a spinach salad and its been a huge awakener to start the week!
